LONG TIME ERP FRIEND AND SPONSOR PASSES

Ivan D. Tennyson, 72, of 5 Birchwood Heights Dr., died at 11:40 a.m. June 22, 2012 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born October 26, 1939 in Minneapolis, Kansas to Alfred and Hazel Harris Tennyson.  He married Rochelle Martin April 1, 1961.

Moving to Ottumwa in 1968, he owned and operated Tennyson Enterprises, operating businesses in Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Minnesota.  He also helped establish fingerprinting centers in forty states.

He had been a member of Ottumwa Rotary Club, Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347, and American Pilots Association.  He also had served on South Ottumwa Savings Bank Board and was a Nashville Music Promoter.

Ivan enjoyed golfing, had a passion for classic cars and loved deep sea fishing from his yacht, “Rochelle”.  Two of his special qualities were his perseverance and his willingness to help others. He was a long time friend and sponsor of Eddyville Raceway Park through his Pizza Hut locations.

Surviving is his high school sweet-heart and loving wife of 51 years, Rochelle; a daughter, Michelle Tennyson of Lee Summit, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Tennyson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Ulrich officiating.  Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Visitation is open after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
