Motorcycles Invade ERP this Saturday August 25th
Saturday August 25th Motorcycle Mania returns to Eddyville Raceway Park. Track manager Gerald Kramer is excited to bring this all bike event back after many years absence. Back in the 70`s and 80`s this was an annual event that Gerald participated in as a motorcycle racer.
This year Mike De Moss from Fenders Cycle in Des Moines had the idea to have a motorcycle charity ride to the track for the Wounded Warrior Project. To this we added a double header race for ERP`s Pro Bike class and a race for our Street Bike series. Also, with the help of Wayne Skinner and the Vintage Drag Bike Association we added vintage drag bikes to the event with several vintage Top Fuel bikes planning to attend along with others.
Friday is open to any vehicle for test and tune with gates opening at 5.30 pm. Saturday gates open at 10 am with time trials starting at 1 pm.
Following is a list of things going on Saturday:
- Live music, up to 5 different bands playing
- Abate motorcycle rodeo
- Tony Schumacher`s Army T/F car will be on display
- Vintage drag bikes on display with some making on track runs
- Wapello Co. Customs Wounded Warrior Chopper on display
- Hear First Sergeant Todd J Eipperle a wounded warrior talk about his experience and about the Wounded Warrior Project
- 50-50 drawing for Wounded Warrior Project
- Event T- shirts sold with all profits going to the Wounded Warrior Project
- Opportunity for racing your bike on the track
- Multiple race classes for drag bikes, street bikes, and vintage drag bikes.
