EDDYVILLE FINISHES A STRONG 4TH
AT DIVISION 5 BRACKET FINALS!

Congratulations to Pro Bike racer Michael Nichols the new NHRA Div. 5 Pro Bike champion. Two weeks ago he was not even on our team, but was able to go when others on the team could not go.  Michael had never been to an ET Finals but showed everyone he can compete with anyone as he defeated defending national champion Tom Klemme, teammate Steve Klemme (in the semi`s)  and Tom Gilligan in the finals, by .0002! Now it`s on to Pomona for Michael.

Our team had another great showing as we finished in 4th place out of 20 teams in attendance, only 7 points out of 1st place! Awesome job for an 1/8 mile track with 35 team members out of a possible 40! Mackenzie Dorsett lost in the semi`s, Rick Laffoon lost in round 6 in Pro ET (defeating 2 time champion Andy Schmall along the way)  Bruce Main also lost in round 6 (when his car would not start due to a dead battery).
On Saturday Steve Klemme won the bike race of champions, was runner up in Saturdays gambler race, and lost in the semi`s to teammate Michael Nichols on Sun. Also on Saturday Jesse Pitts went to round 6 in the gamblers race.

The weather was almost perfect every day (I don`t think Topeka has ever had 4 days in a row with out wind!) The party for ERP, CDP,CFR was awesome. Thanks to Tazz for the great grilled food , Scott, Laura, Dumpster Dan, and the rest of the CDP crew for the rest of the meal and the bar. (I think ERP won the unofficial drinking contest). Thanks to Joy for getting `Eddy` and his mother `Edna` to Topeka, and to all of our racers who made the commitment to come. We haved proved again we have some very tough racers who can compete with anyone even on the long tracks. We also showed great team support whenever one of our racers had problems they had all the help and parts they needed from our team members. Looking forward to the ET Finals 2010 back at Topeka!
