WILKERSON BRINGS FUNNY CAR NATIONAL POINTS LEAD INTO EDDYVILLE
Illinois Funny Car racer Tim Wilkerson will retain his points lead of the NHRA Funny Car standings when he attends the Musco Lighting Night of Fire at Eddyville Raceway Park. Wilkerson has dominated the NHRA Funny Car division in 2008 and is fresh off another Funny Car class win at Englishtown, Wilkerson has his Funny Car performing almost flawlessly. Racing against Wilkerson is Iowa's Jack Wyatt who is a regular competitor in the IHRA Circuit. "I know I have my work cut out for me as Tim has had the most consistent hard charging Nitro car in the World" said Wyatt. ERP officials expect the Funny Car track record to be re-set.
In addition to Nitro Funny Cars, ERP will feature (for the first time ever), Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars including Don Schumachers Wonder Wagon. Plus, the wild front engine Top Fuel Dragsters will also be on hand. Of course, a Musco Lighting Night of Fire wouldn't be complete without Jets and a Wheelstander. "We have added several new features to the 2008 event" said Promoter Scott Gardner "including the Supercharged Blastro Van and Nostalgia Funny Cars it will be awesome"
